As they say, all great ideas start with a moodboard. So I laid out the basic aesthetic idea that has been following me around for a while. That idea has had many previous iterations, some more fantastical than others. But it all came together with the prompt I received:
"A secluded forest enclave where a dogmatic cult worships ancient, malevolent entities. Isolated from the outside world by fear and force, they live under the watchful eyes of their unseen gods."
The following graphics are insights into my notes that I took on then with a few idea variants.
Because I like to take an ecological approach, I first had to do lots of research. I looked into various Indo-European cultures from the neolithic age, since they would be as technologically advanced as I pictured the Fedhana.
As you see in the following, I have created a constructed language for the Fedhana.
